History of the fragrance
The Amouage Honour fragrance is inspired by the famous story of Madame Butterfly, the geisha who married an American and waited in vain for his return for three years. It references the final scene in Giacomo Puccini's 1904 opera, in which the protagonist (known as Butterfly) cannot bear her tragic fate and takes her own life. The men's version of Amouage Honour symbolizes Madame Butterfly's son, taken to America by his father. It tells the story of the grown son who remembers his mother and experiences a certain humility.
